Putra Medical Centre Representatives Participate in National AI in Healthcare Workshop
Putra Medical Centre (PMC) is proud to have participated in the Multi-Sector Stakeholder Engagement Workshop for the National Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare (AIH) Roadmap, held at Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur on 7 November 2025.
Representing PMC at the workshop were Dr. Lee Ling Hui (General Manager cum Safety and Health Officer and Laser Safety Officer), Dr. Siti Nurul Aishah (Deputy Medical Director), Mr. Lee Yong Qian (Strategic Director), Dr. Arshad Khalid (Operational Division Manager), and Madam Nur Hazrati (QA Manager).
Jointly organized by Universiti Malaya in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH), Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), and the National Artificial Intelligence Office (NAIO), the workshop served as a platform for stakeholders to exchange perspectives and provide input towards shaping Malaysia’s National AI in Healthcare Roadmap.
Discussions centred on ensuring that AI works hand in hand with human intelligence, not as a replacement. The workshop emphasized a human-centric approach in AI implementation particularly in data acquisition, care standards and medicolegal governance. Participants also explored the grey areas surrounding commercialisation, noting the need for alignment among healthcare practitioners, institutions, businesses and health economists before widespread adoption.
Key themes highlighted included life cycle analysis, geopolitics, sustainability and impact, underpinned by equitable healthcare access, capacity building and alignment of initiatives for measurable outcomes. The roadmap further underscored the importance of strong governance mechanisms, infrastructure readiness and competency development, as well as the role of health economics and incentive frameworks in driving sustainable AI commercialisation.
Through this engagement, PMC reaffirms its commitment to advancing healthcare innovation responsibly integrating technology, governance and human expertise to enhance patient safety, operational excellence and equitable access to quality care.
