Dato Dr. Lim’s Mother used to have to travel to Penang on a moped just to seek for medical treatment. This real-life experience inspired the good doctor to build a medical centre here in Kedah for the people.

ORIGINS AND MISSION

Driven by the vision to deliver quality and compassionate healthcare to the community, Putra Medical Centre opened our doors in Kedah’s Alor Setar thirty years ago. Our principal founder, Dato’ Dr. Lim Kim Huat was inspired to establish this very hospital during his university years way back in the 1970s. He recognised a pressing need for accessible healthcare in Malaysia, particularly in underserved areas. His commitment to preventive care stems from this sincere motivation and the belief that everyone deserves access to superior medical attention. Having been in the space for three decades now and as we prepare to reel in this milestone anniversary, our organisation remains steadfast in our mission.

In our continuous effort to enhance patient convenience, Putra Medical Centre now offers a dedicated pick-up and drop-off service for dialysis patients. This service allows patients to schedule a convenient pick-up and delivery for their dialysis appointments, ensuring a hassle-free and timely experience. By offering this additional support, we aim to make healthcare more accessible and comfortable, especially for those who may have difficulty commuting to and from the hospital.
