Putra Medical Centre Partners With UNISEL For Full Staff Sponsorship Program
Alor Setar, 26 February 2025 – In a ground-breaking move to foster staff growth and development, Putra Medical Centre (PMC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Universiti Selangor (UNISEL) to provide full sponsorships for its employees to further their education. This collaboration enables PMC staff to pursue Diplomas in Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology, Physiotherapy and Medical Imaging at UNISEL under a fully-funded program, marking a significant step in PMC’s commitment to employee empowerment.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between both parties was signed by Encik Mohd Sharikh Dali bin Mahad, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at UNISEL and Ms Lee Ling Hui, General Manager of PMC as the official signatories.
The signing ceremony, pictured from the right was witnessed by Dr. Ahmad Norasidi bin Mohd Raffie Deputy Dean, Encik Aiman Afif bin Roslan, UNISEL Programme Coordinator for the Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology and Encik Sharunnizar bin Reduan, Assistant Registrar of Student Affairs at UNISEL.
Representatives from PMC also attended the event including Ms Lee Geik Peng, Director of Allied Health Services and Purchasing Manager, Mr Ong Khian Hock Human Resource Director, Madam Punida Sathivheil Director of Nursing, Madam Wan Norazean binte Wan Yusoff, Deputy Director of Nursing, Madam Gan Guat Ghor Human Resource Manager and Encik Abu Bakar bin Madzlipah, PMC Allied Health Manager.
This collaboration reflects PMC’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the skills and qualifications of its workforce, aligning with its efforts to elevate the quality of healthcare services provided to the community.

Following the signing of the MoU, a delegation from UNISEL visited PMC’s state-of-the-art facilities, including the X-Ray Imaging Department featuring the 640-Slice CT Scan, the Physiotherapy Unit equipped with the AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmill, as well as the Laboratory and Ward areas. The tour provided UNISEL representatives with valuable insights into PMC’s operations and healthcare services, further strengthening the partnership between the two institutions.
In addition to the facility tour, both parties exchanged tokens of appreciation as a symbol of unity and the collaboration that has been established.
