Kedah International Health Conference 2025
Putra Medical Centre, a subsidiary of PMCK Berhad, recently participated in the Kedah International Health Conference 2025 hosted for the first time ever, with this pilot edition having graced Malaysia’s northern shores in beautiful Alor Setar. The purpose of our participation was to reintroduce PMC to the healthcare players of the greater region, invite opportunities for collaboration, and elevate healthcare.

A Collaborative Pursuit by Doctors for Doctors
Marking its inaugural instalment, this first Kedah International Health Conference was held from 30 to 31 July at the Raia Hotel & Convention Centre in Alor Setar. Inviting the medical community from the region, the two-day event saw hundreds of participants in attendance from several nations to include Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Vietnam, and more. Jointly organised by the Ministry of Health Malaysia, Kedah State Health Department, and Kedah Public Health Physicians’ Association, it was supported by the Kedah State Government and put together in collaboration with Diabetes Malaysia (Kedah office).
Dialogue, Innovation, and Knowledge-Sharing
Present to deliver the keynote address and launch the event was Deputy Director General of Health Malaysia (Public Health), Dr. Ismuni Bohari (pic), from the Ministry of Health Malaysia. Themed Health for All: From Community to Community, the platform is designed to invite opportunities to listen, learn, and collaborate—and not just in the present, but as the field of healthcare moves towards the future.
“This conference is a timely platform for dialogue, innovation and knowledge-sharing. I am especially pleased to see participants from diverse disciplines, health professionals, academicians, grassroots leaders, policymakers and NGOs joining hands to explore solutions that are practical, inclusive, and sustainable,” shared Dr. Jeremy Rodney David, Acting Director of the Kedah State Health Department.
The programme featured a line-up of symposiums, plenary talks by speakers, an exhibition, and more.
He added: “I am proud of the strides we have made together with our healthcare teams, partners, and most importantly, our communities. From tackling non-communicable diseases (NCDs) to managing outbreaks, our experience has taught us that community engagement is not an option, it is essential.” The event featured a line-up of symposiums, plenary talks by noteworthy speakers, a major exhibition with various healthcare providers as participants, local performances, and shared fraternity dialogues.
Putra Medical Centre Unveils Plans In Motion
Putra Medical Centre (Alor Setar) played a complementary role as an industry exhibitor. Capturing the vision and aims of the Ministry of Health, PMC continues to drive health literacy and raise awareness around NCDs through our ongoing corporate workshops, community-focused camps, healthcare talks, free health screenings, and subsidised treatment packages to make quality medicine more accessible. Today the people’s hospital of Kedah and beyond, our ethos rings true, because indeed Life is Precious.

It is about understanding the unique needs of every community and working together to create sustainable, inclusive solutions,” Dr. Norizan Ahmad commented as Advisor of the Kedah International Health Conference Committee.
Growing The Regional Footprint of Healthcare
In fact, the hospital’s participation is testament to PMCK’s involvement in furthering the practice and provision of quality and affordable healthcare in the region and serving the community. Where our presence was accompanied by genuine purpose, an important goal upheld by our medical centre was introducing the legacy and continuation of our footprint through the upcoming healthcare facility under our umbrella to soon launch, Putra Medical Centre (Kulim). PMCK General Manager cum Safety and Health Officer, Dr. Lee Ling Hui, was on site to address all enquiries from delegates and dignitaries.
Dr. Suziana Redzuan, President of the Kedah Public Health Physician Association, astutely expressed: “In this ever-evolving field, the exchange of knowledge and experiences is essential. This conference is designed to stimulate collaboration, foster meaningful connections, and inspire new approaches to addressing the complex health challenges we face today and in the future.” PMCK celebrates this goal.
